Dismissed all too often for its screenplay, its acting and its outdated FX (“ahhh, doesn't it look quaint? We are now seeing shadings on the bodies of the Harpies, on the Hydra and the green patina of age on Talos with much more distinction. I just watched this movie again after seeing it years and years ago it brought back so many fond memories.

They keep tabs on Jason's adventures by consulting a celestial TV perhaps inherited from our old Egyptian friend Im-Ho-Tep. For years, 16mm copies of Jason placed Medea's temple dance way out of sequence, before the Argonauts reach Colchis.I agree with other web observers that the Hydra seemed to be bluer, and that the Day For Night Harpy sequence was originally a bit darker, like the D for N in The Guns of Navarone.

I'm thinking here of the scene within Talos' treasure trove, or the setting of the Golden Fleece, or the temple-dance sequence.
